Question 3 of 6

~60 seconds

Question 1 of 6

What kind of help do you need?

Question 2 of 6

How many integration channels?

A channel is a single integration pathway — e.g. lab orders from Epic to LabCorp, or ADT messages from your EHR to your analytics warehouse. Most hospitals run 5–25 channels; most health-tech startups run 1–8.

5 channels1 – 50+

Question 3 of 6

Daily message volume?

If you're not sure, pick 'I don't know yet' — we'll estimate based on your channel count and use case.

Question 4 of 6

Which EHRs or systems need to connect?

Select all that apply. Some EHRs (Epic, Oracle Health) require additional vendor approvals which we factor into the timeline and cost.

Question 5 of 6

Deployment preference?

Question 6 of 6

Timeline urgency?

How It Works

Three steps to a real number

No sales-qualifying questions, no "tell us your budget," no calendar dance before you see a price.

1

Answer 6 questions

Help type, channel count, daily volume, the EHRs involved, deployment model, and timeline. Multi-select where it makes sense. ~60 seconds.

2

See your estimate range

Real low-to-high number visible immediately — no email gate. The breakdown shows exactly how multipliers (volume, EHR complexity, deployment, timeline) compounded on the base scope.

3

Lock the price for 30 days (optional)

Enter your email to get the line-item PDF and a 30-day price guarantee. If you sign before the lock expires, the final SOW won't exceed the high end of your range.

Where the numbers come from

These ranges aren't pulled out of thin air

They're built from our internal cost data on 200+ Mirth Connect projects delivered since 2018, adjusted for 2026 labor rates and current Epic / Oracle Health vendor fees. We update the calculator quarterly to reflect:

  • Current senior integration engineer rates — US-based delivery
  • Vendor approval fees from Epic, Oracle Health, athena, and others (passed through at cost — not marked up)
  • Cloud infrastructure costs on HIPAA-eligible services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Realistic project complexity for each EHR family — Epic, Oracle Health, athena, NextGen, eClinicalWorks, Allscripts, Meditech, Greenway

Your final quote may come in below or abovethis range depending on details we can only learn from a conversation — but in 87% of our 2023–2025 projects, the final SOW landed inside the calculator's initial range. The calculator is for budget conversations, not contracts. The discovery call is where we narrow it down.

The case for transparent pricing

Why other vendors hide their numbers

The standard playbook in healthcare integration is "Contact Sales to get pricing." There are reasons for it — some legitimate, most not.

The legitimate reason

Every healthcare integration project is genuinely different. Channel complexity, EHR vendor fees, and compliance scope can swing costs 5× from one project to another. A single number on a webpage misleads more than it informs.

The illegitimate reason

Hidden pricing lets vendors quote based on what they think you can afford rather than what the work actually costs. The same project gets quoted at $40k to a startup and $180k to a hospital. We've seen the actual numbers.

Our calculator solves the legitimate concern by showing rangesthat reflect real project variation. It refuses to play the illegitimate game. If our estimate looks too high for your budget, we'll tell you what scope to cut. If it looks too low, we'll tell you what we're not including. Either way, you'll know more after using this calculator than you'd know after a 30-minute sales call with most of our competitors.

FAQ

Pricing questions we get all the time

Honest answers about ranges, accuracy, and what's included.

How much does Mirth Connect cost?
Mirth Connect software itself is free and open source. Total cost depends on scope. Typical fixed-price integration sprints range from $4,500 (Mirth Installation) to $118,000+ (50+ channel enterprise migration). Our productized managed support packages start at $3,800/month for Bronze (60 hours of senior engineer time) and run to $28,000+/month for Enterprise. Use the calculator above for a range tailored to your specific channel count and EHRs.
How much does Mirth Connect support cost per month?
Our productized Mirth Connect support packages are Bronze $3,800/month (60 hours senior engineer time, 4-hour critical SLA), Silver $6,800/month (120 hours, 15-minute critical SLA), Gold $12,500/month (240 hours, 24/7 on-call, 15-minute SLA all severities), and Enterprise from $28,000/month (4 FTE, 640 hours). Silver is the anchor tier for most production Mirth deployments.
What's the cost to migrate from Iguana to Mirth Connect?
Our productized Iguana → Mirth migration sprint is from $34,500 for ≤20 channels (8 weeks), from $62,500 for 20–50 channels (12 weeks), and from $118,000 for enterprise migrations with 50+ channels (16 weeks). Rhapsody → Mirth and Corepoint → Mirth migrations both start at $34,500. Most Iguana customers see ROI within 6–12 months due to Mirth's lower ongoing license costs.
Why is Mirth Connect support "expensive" when the software is free?
Mirth Connect is open source and free to download — but running it in production for a healthcare organization requires senior engineers who understand HL7, FHIR, HIPAA, the specific EHR you're connecting to, and the failure modes of distributed messaging systems. That expertise is what you're paying for, the same way you'd pay for a senior Postgres DBA even though Postgres is free.
Why is there such a wide range between the low and high estimates?
Healthcare integration projects vary enormously based on details we can't capture in a 6-question form — vendor approval timelines, data quality of source systems, scope creep from stakeholders, change management. The range reflects honest uncertainty. A single number would be more confident but less accurate. In 87% of our 2023–2025 projects, the final SOW landed inside the calculator's initial range.
Do you offer fixed-price projects or only time-and-materials?
Both. After a discovery call we can usually offer a fixed-price SOW for projects with well-defined scope. Open-ended or research-heavy work goes T&M. The calculator estimates fixed-price equivalents — these match our productized integration sprints and support tiers.
What's not included in the estimate?
EHR vendor fees (Epic Connection Hub, Oracle Health developer fees, etc.) are passed through at cost — not included in our estimate. Cloud infrastructure costs (AWS, Azure, GCP) are also pass-through. Your team's internal time isn't included either. The estimate covers our engineering work, project management, documentation, and post-launch hyper-care.
How accurate are these estimates compared to your real quotes?
In 87% of our 2023–2025 projects, the final signed SOW landed within the calculator's initial estimate range. The other 13% split roughly evenly between coming in under (simpler than expected) and over (scope expanded during discovery). The calculator is built from actual cost data across 200+ delivered projects and updated quarterly.
Can I get a better price if I commit to a longer engagement?
Yes. Annual support contracts run 10–15% below monthly pricing. Multi-year managed services contracts can save 20%+. The calculator shows the standard rate; we negotiate down for committed customers. Mention long-term intent on your scoping call and we'll work the discount into the SOW.
What about ongoing maintenance after a one-time project?
After a one-time project, most clients move to a Bronze or Silver support tier for ongoing maintenance. The calculator will let you estimate both — pick "One-time integration project" first, see the build cost, then run it again with "Ongoing support" to estimate the monthly run-rate.
Why don't other Mirth Connect vendors show pricing?
Most healthcare integration vendors hide pricing because it lets them quote based on perceived budget rather than actual project cost. The same project gets quoted at $40k to a startup and $180k to a hospital. We publish ranges because the same work should cost the same regardless of buyer.
